The Swedish game tech industry is a thriving and innovative sector that has gained international recognition. Renowned for its high-quality graphics, immersive storytelling, and unique gameplay mechanics, Swedish game studios have produced globally successful titles across various platforms. Sweden’s game tech industry continues to evolve, attracting talented professionals and investors from around the world, solidifying its position as a key player in the global gaming landscape.
One of our recent collaborations was with a game company based in Stockholm. The company’s main product is a turn-based strategy game with millions of players across the world. So far, the game has been downloaded more than 18 million and is being played in 100+ countries.
The company needed to hire a new Lead Game Programmer. They published a detailed job description on their website and other platforms. After having interviews with some applicants, the team realized that they need a highly qualified candidate with many years of experience. In addition, they wanted to hire a Swedish speaker since the rest of the team communicates in Swedish on a daily basis.
To find the company’s next Lead Game Programmer, Agile Search kicked off an executive search process. First, we had a start-up meeting with the hiring manager to understand the company’s dynamics and culture, and the responsibilities of the new hire. Next, we formed a team of 4 recruiters. Each of us focused on different platforms to find the right candidates. Some of the platforms included GitHub, Stack Overflow, Twitter, Linkedin, and Slack. We approached the candidates with highly personalized reach-out messages and we had the first round of interviews to understand their motivations and goals. Lastly, we shared and discussed the candidates with the hiring manager.
Agile Search delivered an amazing candidate with more than 10 years of experience and is a fluent Swedish speaker. The company was very happy with the end result and expressed that they would like to work with us in the future again!
