Our story

Our journey to fix the gap in IT competency within the Nordic Talent market.

How it all started

Agile Search is a professional consultancy firm founded in 2009 by co-founders Fredrik Raynal and Salah Doumon. The company was established to address a significant gap in the IT competency within the Nordic Talent market, with a strong desire to share international expertise in finding the best talents globally and connecting them with the best companies in the Nordics. Our core services of searching and attracting top global talent for companies using modern development practices naturally led us to the name Agile Search.

Business growth

Initially, Agile Search focused on executive search cases, mainly reaching out to candidates through phone calls. However, with increasing competition in the recruitment market, the founders decided to switch their strategy in 2014. They incorporated emails, social media, ATS, and Hubspot, making it easier to track their key performance indicators (KPIs).

Their first in-house recruitment case was not intentional but led to the seed of offering this kind of service to their clients in the future. Agile Search realized that embedded recruitment was more successful than executive search in Stockholm, as candidates responded more positively when contacted directly by the hiring company.

This led to Agile Search offering in-house recruitment as a service to their existing clients. During this service, they offered recommendations on job ads, data and KPIs on recruitment processes to help clients make informed decisions. Additionally, they worked closely with hiring managers, providing suggestions based on gathered market data.

In 2017, we opened an office in Helsinki, where executive search cases are more common. However, in Stockholm, 95% of the demand is embedded recruitment.

In 2019, the company realized that some clients were open to international relocation for candidates, and they attempted to add this service to their portfolio. However, due to concerns about language barriers, relocation processes, and cultural integration, most companies were hesitant about international recruitment. To address this challenge, Agile Search management began hiring international developers who could work as consultants.

Despite the pandemic, Agile Search hired the first two IT consultants in 2020 and sent them on assignments. The goal was to build a team of developers who can work collaboratively on projects.
